A musical journey

Janan was introduced to music and sound engineering by his father at a young age. Growing up, he studied tabla and percussion, and after years of performing as an instrumentalist around the world, he formed a band – The Fusion Project – and began producing music. Janan’s sound is influenced by his Indian classical tradition, along with elements of hip-hop and qawwali, the music of his childhood. As an artist, he has featured on the BBC and The Hindu. He has worked with world-class musicians including flute maestro Rakesh Chaurasia and sarod exponent Ranajit Sengupta, and currently performs with Qawwali legend Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
